❌ EVENT ENDED — Pixel Surge ran from August 3 to August 10, 2026 (04:59 Server Time) and has now concluded. See the guide below for future reference.
Pixel Surge is a one-week bonus farming event in NTE Version 1.2 that doubles the rewards earned from spending Character Pixels in specific Anomaly Zones. With a daily cap of 120 Character Pixels and a total event cap of 840 Pixels, this is the most efficient farming window of the patch for character upgrade materials, Arc materials, and Cartridges.
Event Overview
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Event Period | August 3 – August 10, 2026 (04:59 Server Time) |
| Duration | 7 days |
| Effect | Double rewards from eligible Anomaly Zones |
| Daily Cap | 120 Character Pixels |
| Total Event Cap | 840 Character Pixels |
| Carryover | Unused daily allowance carries over (up to 840 total) |
Best Zones to Spend Pixels (Ranked)
Game8 and the community rank the four eligible Anomaly Zones as follows. Spend your daily 120 Pixels in this order:
| Rank | Zone | Materials | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Houdinii’s Magic Stage | Character upgrade materials | Universal — all characters use these. No downside to stockpiling. Highest priority. |
| 2 | Houdinii’s Schemes | Esper Ability upgrade materials | Large quantities needed to fully max character abilities. High value if you have characters to invest in. |
| 3 | Bubble Can Factory | Arc upgrade materials | Interchangeable with Houdinii’s Schemes. Arcs can be shared between characters, so Arc mats benefit your whole roster. |
| 4 | Rabbit Hole | Cartridges + Carrotas | Lowest priority due to RNG variance in Cartridge quality. Only run here after exhausting the top three zones. |
Recommendation: If you have 120 Pixels to spend daily, prioritize Houdinii’s Magic Stage first, then split remaining Pixels between Houdinii’s Schemes and Bubble Can Factory based on what your roster needs most.
Daily Cap and Carryover Explained
Pixel Surge applies the double reward multiplier to up to 120 Character Pixels per day. Key rules:
Partial spending still counts. Spending 40 or 80 Pixels in a single session still triggers the double reward for those Pixels. You do not need to spend exactly 120 in one go.
Unused allowance carries over. If you miss a day or spend fewer than 120 Pixels, the unused allowance carries forward. The maximum accumulated carryover for the entire event is 840 Pixels (7 days × 120). This means you can catch up on missed days by spending more on a later day.
Practical example: If you skip August 3 and 4, you enter August 5 with 360 Pixels of double-reward allowance banked. You can spend all 360 in one session and receive double rewards for all of them.
Quick Explore Shortcut
If you own the Eden Apartments property, you have access to the Quick Explore feature with the Gilded Butler Anomaly. The Pixel Surge double reward bonus applies when using Quick Explore, meaning you can complete your entire daily Pixel allowance with a single button press rather than manually running each zone.
This is the most efficient way to clear your daily Pixel Surge allowance, especially during the busy final stretch of Version 1.2 when multiple events are running simultaneously.
What to Farm During Pixel Surge
Iroi’s upgrade materials. Iroi’s banner runs July 29 – August 19. If you pulled Iroi, her character upgrade materials from Houdinii’s Magic Stage are the highest-value target during Pixel Surge.
Arc materials for The Wrong Gate. Iroi’s signature Arc, The Wrong Gate, requires Arc upgrade materials from Bubble Can Factory. If you pulled her signature, prioritize Arc mats.
Zankou preparation. Zankou’s banner is expected to start August 19 (Version 1.3 Phase 1). If you are planning to pull Zankou, use Pixel Surge to stockpile upgrade materials for her in advance — the material types are shared across characters.
Other Concurrent Events (August 3–10)
Pixel Surge overlaps with several other active events during its run:
| Event | Duration | Key Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel Surge | Aug 3 – Aug 10 | Double Character Pixel rewards |
| Fishing Frenzy | Aug 3 – Aug 19 | Annulith, Bond items, EXP materials |
| Going, Going, Gone! | Jul 29 – Aug 19 | Annulith, Fabricated Dice, Bond items |
| Beyond the Rails: Cresting Circle | Jul 30 – Aug 13 | Annulith, Bond items |
| Warren Lucky Flip | Aug 5 – Aug 19 | Annulith, Fabricated Dice, Manhole Boss |
Pixel Surge is a passive bonus that applies automatically when you spend Pixels — it does not require a separate event UI. You can run Pixel Surge alongside all other events without any conflict.
