NTE Version 1.2 Overview
Version 1.2 of Neverness to Everness is expected to launch around July 2, 2026, introducing two new S-rank characters from the Containment Strike Unit Division 2 (C.S.U. 2) across two banner phases.
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Expected Release | ~July 2, 2026 |
| Phase 1 Character | Shinku (S-rank · Lumina/Light) |
| Phase 2 Character | Iroi (S-rank · Lingxi/Spirit) |
| Current Version | 1.1 (Lacrimosa → Chaos) |
Recent community leaks and gameplay footage have shed more light on their expected roles and mechanics, giving players a clearer picture of how to plan their pulls.
Shinku — Phase 1 (Main DPS)
Shinku is a member of C.S.U. Division 2, the same unit as Mint. She is an S-rank Lumina (Light) attribute character and will headline the first banner of Version 1.2.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Rarity | S-rank |
| Element | Lumina (Light) |
| Faction | Bureau of Anomaly Control — C.S.U. Division 2 |
| Expected Role | Burst Main DPS |
Based on recent leaks and gameplay demonstrations, Shinku is a burst-focused Main DPS. Her kit reportedly operates on a dual-state system involving Fury and Frenzy. She builds Fury through normal attacks and skills, then enters a Frenzy state for massively amplified damage output. Her Ultimate is expected to deal multi-hit AoE damage followed by a devastating single-target finishing blow.
Because the Lumina (Light) attribute already has a solid foundation (the Creation system), Shinku is expected to slot seamlessly into existing setups as the primary damage core, pairing well with characters like Jiuyuan and the Protagonist.
Iroi — Phase 2 (Support)
Iroi is also affiliated with C.S.U. Division 2 and will be the Phase 2 banner character. She is an S-rank Lingxi (Spirit) attribute character.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Rarity | S-rank |
| Element | Lingxi (Spirit) |
| Faction | Bureau of Anomaly Control — C.S.U. Division 2 |
| Expected Role | Support / Buffer |
Leaks suggest Iroi will be a powerful support character. Her kit revolves around deploying up to three independent sheep summons that provide healing (scaling off her Max HP) and significant attack/critical damage buffs to the active character.
Support characters generally enjoy a longer lifespan in the meta compared to Main DPS units. Iroi is expected to complement Shinku perfectly, but her universal buffs mean she can likely fit into multiple team archetypes, making her a highly valuable long-term investment.
How to Plan Your Resources Now
Pity Carries Over
The most important mechanic to understand for pull planning is that pity carries over between limited banners. Every pull you make on Lacrimosa’s banner counts toward Chaos’s banner, and every pull on Chaos’s banner will carry into Shinku’s banner in Version 1.2.
This means there is no penalty for pulling on Version 1.1 banners if you intend to pull in Version 1.2 — your progress is never reset.
Solid Dice Accumulation
Between now and the Version 1.2 launch (~July 8), the following sources will provide Solid Dice:
| Source | Estimated Solid Dice |
|---|---|
| Daily login and missions (6 weeks) | ~35–42 |
| Version 1.1 event rewards | ~20–30 |
| Bagel SNS and Bagel Shop | ~5–10 |
| Maintenance compensation | Variable |
| Estimated total | ~60–80 Solid Dice |
60–80 Solid Dice represents roughly 60–80 pulls. Combined with any existing pity, most players will have a reasonable chance at one of the two Version 1.2 characters without additional spending.
Should You Pull Chaos or Save for 1.2?
This depends heavily on your current roster state:
Save for Version 1.2 if:
- You already have a reliable Main DPS (e.g., Nanally, Hotori) and want to build a complete, synergistic core.
- You are F2P or low-spending and need to maximize the value of your pulls. The Shinku + Iroi combination offers a ready-made, high-tier team core.
- You prefer burst-heavy playstyles backed by strong summon-based support.
Pull Chaos in 1.1 if:
- Your account desperately lacks a strong Main DPS and struggles with current endgame content (Lacrimosa or Chaos can provide an immediate boost).
- You specifically enjoy the playstyles or elements of the V1.1 featured characters.
There is no universally correct answer. The key point is that skipping Chaos does not waste any pity — it simply carries forward.
Final Verdict: Shinku vs Iroi
If you are forced to choose between the two V1.2 characters:
- Prioritize Shinku if your account needs a powerful Main DPS to carry you through story progression and endgame content. She is expected to be the direct upgrade for damage-dealing responsibilities.
- Prioritize Iroi if you already have mature Main DPS teams. Support characters like Iroi are generally easier to integrate into existing rosters and offer better long-term value.
